The Municipality of Chelsea wishes to inform its residents that the modernization of its residual material collection system is set to take effect on February 4th, 2025. Throughout the territory, compost, recycling and waste bins will now be collected by a truck equipped with a mechanized arm.
This change follows Chelsea's joining the regroupement intermunicipal pour la gestion des matières résiduelles, alongside the municipalities of La Pêche, Cantley and Val-des-Monts. This decision is part of a collective effort to modernize selective collection systems in line with the new standards put in place by the Government of Quebec in 2023.
The Municipality invites residents to take note of the changes and new collection instructions that will be effective in February, to ensure efficient bin collection.
This significant change will take time for all parties concerned to adapt. Public understanding and patience are essential.
To help residents through this transition, it is strongly suggested to register to the PiVOT, portail citoyen, to receive personalized alerts concerning residual materials, such as collection reminders, delays or cancellations, directly to their phones.
